I don’t know about you, but I’m scared. And the thing I’m most scared about is if Feisty McGeezer gets elected, he’ll stack with Supreme Court with more Scalitos who will be happy to rubber stamp more outrages.
Someday we’ll look back at 2001 as the year the US stopped marching forwards towards greater and greater civil liberties, and started a permanent slide into despotism.
Now, now, McCain won’t get the chance to put any new justices on the bench. He’ll die before he gets his chance. Good thing little miss Jesus is along for the ride!

I’m afraid, that after the sterling example of the FISA get-out-of-jail-free bill, that the Democrats in congress will trample each other in their rush to vote YES in support of this bill. Can’t be seen as weak on terrorism, doncha know.
It’s possible that the United States will have a real liberal party again, but I don’t think that this is going to happen very soon.
I just finished Jane Mayer’s “The Dark Side” and I don’t think this is where the action is.
The real erosion of the rule of law is being done by all those secret legal findings that allow the President to do whatever he wants. If the Supremes strike them down, no problem, cook up another batch of saying the same thing in different words.
