We’ve put an offer in on a house. It’s a lovely old 1920 house that once belonged to a sister of George and Ira Gershwin. It’s more house than we need, more expensive than we’d planned on, but it’s beautiful, well kept, and in a great neighbourhood.
I really hope we get it.
Fingers crossed for the whole family. It sounds like a beautiful house, and you’ll easily be able to afford it once you discover that long lost manuscript stuffed underneath the loose floorboard.
Yeah, good luck Paul. Hopefully the housing market is not as screwy there as it is here in central NJ; Brenda & I got outbid on several homes when we were home shopping a few years ago, often by buyers making cash offers far above market value — even if we’d wanted to play ball, no bank would have loaned us the money. (These people knew what they were doing, since similar units in our condo development are selling for $50-$70,000 more than we paid, a mere three years later.)
Good luck to you; it looks great.
