1) Stop all incoming/outgoing feeds for all the groups to the old server and then for each newsgroup that machine carries post a single message "You are using the old news server, switch to news.xcski.com and read compass.announce for details".

or

2) just tell INN to reject incoming connections with "Wrong server!  Use ...." messages.

That should catch most readers.</description>
