When you thought one year of flying down to Thanksgiving, that's the airport I was telling you might be closest. I can almost picture a tile store on Rte 46 that might have been your destination.

Runway 4 is always hard to see at CDW. I nearly killed myself and Michael in the Twinkie doing a night circle to land in the rain there. I shot the LOC on 22, circle to land 4, and I lost the runway in the middle of the circle, then saw 16, got confused, had some problems with minimums (and that hill at the end of the runway scares me when it's not night and IFR), and finally just climbed back to circling mins, and circled the airport one more time until I got my bearings and landed. Tower was more understanding then I would have expected.

And I've never come out of CDW IFR without getting LANNA as my first fix.

Ahh, that brought back memories, Paul. CDW is where I did the bulk of my flight training for the private, and the area around SAX was our practice area. I can still see it in my mind like it was yesterday, when I rolled out of my first solo steep turn and was staring at the nose of a Citation that was flying SAX outbound, doing the VOR/DME A apch to TEB. Oops.

Almost got in the air today myself, in a helicopter of all things. BUt I decided that 27G35 was not the kind of wind I wanted to try my first hover in. Stay tuned.
