My mistake. I thought I saw the strobe on, but in the bright sunshine I was probably wrong.

I had trouble finding my keys too.

Just one point of clarification: I did not have the battery running in the Archer while getting ready for my flight; normally I don't get clearances, etc until I start the engine. What took me so long is that I was monkeying around with my charts, seatbelt, and then I couldn't find my key in the cockpit. I had to undo my seatbelt so I could dig into my pocket 3-4 times before I finally found it underneath a wad of tissues. The battery went on just before I started it; gave it lots of prime, and it turned over nicely, but it only caught for a few seconds and then shut down again. Didn't have enough battery juice for a second start.
