Jason: I'm doing virtualization because $100 a month for colo seemed a little bit of overkill for me, so I'm sharing the box with two other people. That way we all get way more than what I was paying $30 a month for at linode.com.

Vicki: Yes, there is a "del" command in
ftp
. And I was worried that an un-escaped "put" might have done something weird, like how ncftpbatch was attempting to upload all those files called "Zone" earlier.

Vicki, you want the "remote ftp" flag for your rm commands to work, try this instead: rm -rf *

Because I got confused and thought that "rm *" was the same thing as ncftpput -u [user] -p [password] -b [server] [directory] [filename]. It's a simple mistake, anyone could make it.

Isn't rm * useless over an ftp connection anyway?

Feh.

Why is it required to do virtualization on this box? Seems like you could avoid the problems you're having if the reasons for doing so can be accomplished in other ways until xen is fully-ready for prime time.
