Today’s legal question

Is it legal to shoot the creators of DebianHelp.co.uk because most of the links on their site open new windows? If not, why not?

Can I at least wound them for the over-use of pink text?

  1. It isn’t, but it should be. If I want a new window, I’ll open one! Firefox helps a little, with its “open new windows in tabs” option, but it wouldn’t be necessary if web developers weren’t morons.

The banning of the “target” option for links is one of my favourite things about XHTML Strict.

Unfortunately, compliance with XHTML Strict is not exactly mandatory yet. Now that would be a fun law to enforce – with extreme violence, naturally…
