One thing that surprises me about the DA-40 is the piss-poor useful load. With 180Hp it's only got a useful load of 880 lbs. Our Archers are 180Hp, and they have closer to 950 lbs useful load. But then again, they don't fly as fast and use more gas.

Almost all of my time is in DA-20s, which have the same type of nosewheel -- great for when you're rolling along the ground rather that flying through the air where you should be. If I had the time and money, I'd buy a DA-40 in a heartbeat.

But I don't.... *sigh*

My "instrument student" has a set of those, and he loves them. I'm not sure I could get over the psychologial thing about not feeling the headsets on my head.

But they sure look comfortable.
