Not necessarily. There's a lot of pressure from the folks who profit from that success. In any business, there are those who will "use people up" as readily as they break wind.</description>

		<description>The real problem with better drugs/equipment is that it will separate the haves from the have nots; how can a young poor cyclist afford EPO when his parents had to break their backs just to get him a good racing bike?

I don't care about athletes going "too far".  That's all free will, man.  Once a few of them drop dead, maybe the next generation will be a tiny bit smarter about it.  I think there should be more drugs because the more they're researched, the better we'll know what's safe and what isn't.  As it is, athletes are training and doing things that would hurt most people (and they get hurt anyway; pitching a baseball, for crying out loud).  So throwing performance enhancers into that ring doesn't make a difference to me.</description>
