The Concorde was impressive, but wrong. Practical airliners have gotten no faster since the 707, and won't until they change the laws of physics. Boeing even dropped their plan to eke out an extra tenth of a Mach and continue to build 450-knot trucks. And world hunger is a most soluble problem; it's just less fashionable than blowing up Arabs.
